Senior Scheduler
Austal is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to play a critical role in the planning and delivery of complex shipbuilding programs within a Defence environment.
This position sits at the centre of program execution, responsible for developing, integrating, and optimising detailed production schedules that underpin successful delivery. You will provide authoritative schedule insight across engineering, supply chain, production, and commissioning enabling proactive decision-making and effective risk mitigation at a program level.
Working within a Defence prime and subcontractor ecosystem, you will ensure schedules are fully integrated, logically robust, and aligned to contractual milestones driving performance across the full shipbuilding lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, integration, and control of complex shipbuilding schedules aligned to program strategy, contractual obligations, and delivery milestones
- Establish and govern schedule baselines, ensuring integrity of logic, sequencing, constraints, and assumptions
- Drive schedule quality and data integrity across multiple stakeholders, including Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain
- Conduct advanced schedule analysis (critical path, float erosion, trends, and what-if scenarios) to identify risks and opportunities
- Provide early warning and strategic insight to program leadership, supporting mitigation and recovery planning
- Integrate subcontractor and work package schedules into the master program, managing interfaces and interdependencies
- Own and optimise Primavera P6 schedules, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, coding structures, and reporting standards
- Translate complex schedule data into clear, executive-level insights, reports, and forecasts
- Mentor and guide junior schedulers and planning stakeholders, uplifting scheduling capability across the program
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Significant experience in a senior scheduling role within Defence, shipbuilding, heavy manufacturing, or complex infrastructure programs
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including schedule integration, baseline management, and performance analysis
- Strong expertise in critical path methodology, earned value, progress measurement, and schedule risk analysis
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a complex delivery environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and present to senior and executive stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to operate in a high-stakes, delivery-driven environment
